Managing Credit Risk in the New Normal

  • Date: 12.11.2020 08:30 AM
  • Location: Online Event

Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) play a significant role in the society by facilitating the provision of financial services to the people through savings and providing credit and investment opportunities to individuals, institutions and group members. The Central Bank of Kenya had issued a directive to suspend for a period of six months, the listing of negative credit information for borrowers whose loans were performing previously but have become non-performing from April 1, 2020 to 30 September 2020. The end of the CRB listing freeze comes at a time when the finance sector is struggling with mounting unpaid loans whose share has risen to the highest level since August 2007.

It is due to these reasons that we intend to hold a conference, which is themed: Managing Credit in the New Normal. We have three objectives for this conference as follows:
1. Creating an awareness of the importance of effective credit risk management.
2. Analyzing the credit policy measures for effective credit risk management in the new norm.
3. Creating a knowledge resource to support effective credit management.

The conference will take place on Thursday, 12 November 2020 from 8:30am to 2:00pm.
